Steeped in history, Winchester is the oldest city west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Famous for changing hands over 70 times during the Civil War, it was home to George Washington’s headquarters. Rose Hill Farm and La Grange House are fully restored 18th century homes, and Valerie Hill Winery was built in early 19th century. Belle Grove, an 18th century plantation withstood the Battle of Cedar Creek during the civil war.
